Support 21st Century Technology in ICS Classrooms
Pledge Your Support for 21st Century Technology in the Independence Charter Classroom!
In December Independence Charter School announced our 2010-2011 fundraising campaign to Enhance Technology in the Classroom. And we called upon each and every ICS family and staff member to pledge their support so that we can provide our students with daily access to technology which enhances classroom learning, facilitates independent research, encourages critical thinking, and creates connections to people and places far away.
We estimate that to truly outfit our classrooms for the 21st century we would need to raise $360,000. As a public charter school, we only receive 80% of the funding of traditional public school. Consequently we rely on the support of foundations, corporations, ICS families and friends.
The funds from the 2010 – 2011Campaign will be used for items such as:
- a smart board in every classroom
- in-classroom laptops for 5th – 8th grades students
- increased access to educational software and web-based programs
- additional printers and other hardware including headphones with microphones
