Policies

Extended Absences

Students cannot succeed if they do not regularly attend school. For that reason, ICS has a strict attendance policy.

If your child is absent for three or more consecutive days, you must send a doctor’s note. Your child will not be allowed to return to class without a note.
If your child is absent for five or more consecutive days and returns without a doctor’s note, the Dean of Students will contact you to discuss the situation.

In all situations, the Dean of Students will receive a written report from the teacher.

If absences continue, your family may be referred for a hearing before the Board of Trustees. Further absences may also result in the school contacting the Department of Human Services’ truancy office.
