School News
You can stay up to date on school news by reading The ICS Link, subscribing to ICS listservs, and attending Board of Trustee meetings.
The ICS Link
The ICS Link is a monthly newsletter for families at Independence Charter School. Each issue covers:
- A message from Principal Stephanie
- Board of Trustee meeting news and updates
- News from the grades—a snapshot of each grade’s studies
- Updates from all of our specials—science, art, music, dance and movement
- PTA news—information about current fundraisers, special activities, and volunteer opportunities
- Monthly school calendar—meetings, activities, and closings
- Monthly menu—daily breakfast and lunch menu
The ICS Link is sent home in your child’s folder at the beginning of each month.
ICS Listservs
A listserv is a communication tool for sharing information among a select group of people—in our case, ICS parents and community members. Subscribing to a listserv allows you to send and receive e-mails addressed to the list. ICS has three listservs to help you stay in touch with what’s happening at the school.
- ICSInfo: The school uses this listserv to send out school-specific announcements: closings, emergencies, and other announcements. Email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to join.
- ICSCommunity: This listserv is a community forum for posting non-ICS-specific information to the ICS community. You can share tips, referrals, and information about community events, after-school programs, summer camps, etc. Email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to join.
- ICSPTA: The PTA uses this listserv for PTA-specific announcements and information. Email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to join.
In addition to these schoolwide listservs, your class may offer a class-specific listserv.
