Parent/Teacher Communication

Successful parent-teacher communication consists of both formal and informal meetings and discussions:

Report card meetings
You’ll meet twice yearly with your child’s primary teacher to discuss your child’s report card. On report card days, ICS closes the school for students so teachers have the chance to meet with all parents. Meetings are typically 15 minutes long and provide you with the opportunity to hear about your child’s activities and performance, to review your child’s grades, and to ask any questions. At the end of the meeting, you’ll be asked to sign the report card to show you’ve met with the teacher, and you will receive a copy of the report card for your records.

You can also meet with the art, dance and movement, or other specials teachers to learn more about their programs.

Classroom meetings
You can request a meeting with your child’s teachers anytime throughout the year. To do so, contact the teacher directly or send a note in with your child. You may also leave a message with our front desk staff.

If you have difficulty reaching a teacher or have concerns or questions about a teacher, call the front desk to make an appointment with the principal.
