In the 2011-2012 school year, meal cards are included in the student dress code. Students are not required to wear the lanyards unless they need to use them in the cafeteria. At other times of the day, lanyards and cards can be kept in a backpack, locker, or cubby.
This year the front office is NOT giving out slips for students who forget their cards. Students must remember to ask their teachers for their emergency card before going to the cafeteria. When students lose their cards they must request a replacement for $2 from the front office. See full procedures here: Meal Card Procedures 2011-2012
ICS offers breakfast and lunch through the National School Lunch Program; Linton Managed Services is our meal vendor. With several daily selections and food prepared daily, ICS’s school meals are one of our students’ favorite things about ICS!
Breakfast
Daily breakfast: $1.25
Reduced daily breakfast: 30¢
Lunch
Daily lunch: $2.30
Reduced daily lunch: 40¢
Milk: 40¢
A La Carte Items are available on a daily basis for 75¢ (CASH ONLY) each
Payment
Payment (cash or money order) can be sent in with your child on any school day. Send the appropriate amount in your child’s folder. Use an envelope marked “Meal Program” with your child’s name, classroom teacher and the amount enclosed. You can also pay by credit card through the online LunchTime portal.

The Lunch Menu offers three daily options:
Hot Lunch: Changes daily and is listed in each day’s lunch menu box
Sandwich or Wrap: Options rotate based on day of the week
Salad: Options rotate based on day of the week
A daily Vegetarian Lunch is also available by advance order only. If your child will order a vegetarian lunch every day, you can let us know by contacting .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) so that we can add the name to the daily list. If your child would like to order a vegetarian lunch periodically, you can either 1) email/call .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) the night or morning before, or 2) remind your child to sign up for it in the cafeteria before going up to class that morning.
Healthy Food, Healthy Bodies
ICS takes very seriously its responsibility to address the well-being of the children entrusted to its care, and that includes their physical and emotional well-being. Because diet is a large part of well-being, ICS asks that you send your children to school with healthy lunches and snacks. Parents are asked to try not to send any soda, candy, or sweet treats in lunches and to send healthy treats for classroom celebrations.
