An Original Freedom Writer Student
Meet Sharaud Moore, one of Erin Gruwell’s students from Wilson High School who helped spark the Freedom Writers movement and was highlighted in the 2007 Freedom Writers film.
Meet Michael Farrell, an Independence Charter School teacher, who narrates his experience of teaching in the Independence Charter classroom in the new book “Teaching Hope: Stories from the Freedom Writers Teachers and Erin Gruwell”.
This event showcases the artwork, photography, creative and expository writing of Independence Charter School’s students and debuts our 2010 World Holidays Calendar featuring student artwork.
