ICS Raises over $2,000 in 2 Days for Haiti Relief Efforts

January 25, 2010

In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Independence Charter School has put together several opportunities for students, staff, and ICS families to help the people of Haiti and the relief efforts currently underway there. As a school that values teaching global citizenship and responsibility the ICS community has been called to take this opportunity to teach our students the many ways we can respond as citizens of the world.

In two days the ICS community has collected over $2,000 dollars through a Change for Change Drive and a Dress Down Day.  In addition, a large number of medical supplies are being collected each day. Money collected from both our Change for Change and Dollar Dress Down Day will be divided between Partners in Health and Doctors Without Borders. In-kind donations will be given to the Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia.

Please continue to visit our website to stay informed of our latest efforts as other opportunities will be announced.
