ICS Awarded KABOOM Playground Grant

Great News!
ICS has just received notice that we will be a recipient of a KABOOM grant. KABOOM is a North American foundation based in Washington, DC, that pairs community organizations with local funders to build playgrounds.
ICS applied for a grant and it was accepted!
The KABOOM process requires student and community input. Therefore, we are inviting ICS students to come to a Playground design day on Wednesday, August 20, from 2-3pm. Although the design will be for our playground, we must use a location off-site for this fun process! We will be meeting at a location very close to the new school building. We have space for 20 to 30 ICS kids. Please at telling her who would like to attend. We do not know what the response will be in the middle of the summer with some kids away at camp. If it is an overwhelming response, we will pick names of students who represent various grades.
Parents! You are welcome to attend as well in the session that will follow the kids’ session; the adult session is from 3-4:30pm on that same day. We will provide supervision for your kids during that time. Similarly, please if you would like to participate. We will also be looking for many volunteers on the day of the “build” which will take place on October 23, 2008.
