ICS Raises over $2,000 in 2 Days for Haiti Relief Efforts
January 25, 2010
In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Independence Charter School has put together several opportunities for students, staff, and ICS families to help the people of Haiti and the relief efforts currently underway there. In two days the ICS community has collected over $2,000 dollars through a Change for Change Drive and a Dress Down Day.
Students Receive a Gold Medal Prize in Dancing Classrooms Ballroom Dance Competition

Independence Charter School team of twelve fifth grade students received a gold medal prize in Dancing Classrooms Philly’s semi-final ballroom dance competition on December 9 at Our Lady of Ransom School in Northeast Philadelphia.
Rain Garden Helps Green the ICS Playground

Under the gathering leaves, in the shallow swale beside the Lombard Street side of the playground fence, a rain garden is growing at Independence Charter School.
