2012-2013 Student Lottery
January 9, 2012
The deadline to apply for the Independence Charter School’s 2012-2013 student lottery has passed. Any applications submitted at this time will be placed at the end of the waiting list after the lottery takes place on Friday, February 10, 2012. The lottery will begin at 6p.m. and is open to the public.
La lotería estudiantil de la escuela ICS 2012-2013 ya pasó. Cualquier solicitud entregada desde ahora en adelante sera puesta al final de la lista de espera según el programa y grado después del día de la lotería que es el Viernes 10 de febrero del 2012. La lotería empezara a las 6pm y esta abierta al publico.
EARLY DISMISSAL Dec. 20-22 for Report Card Conferences

Remember that students will dismiss early this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Kindergarten students will dismiss at 11:30am and 1st-8th grade students will have a staggered dismissal between 11:40-11:50am.
ICS Launches 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

This year marks the “perfect storm” of great anniversaries for Independence Charter School. We are celebrating our 10 full years as a successful charter school in Philadelphia and the 100th birthday of our beautiful school building! Since it is such a special set of anniversaries, we will be celebrating all year round. Parents, students and community members will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of events. To launch the celebration, we reached out to our community supporters and brought them together in a very special event at the Racquet Club on 16th Street. We invited many of the special supporters who had helped make ICS what it is today.
A very special new tradition, recognizing our partners in strengthening education for Philly kids, was the awarding of Global Citizen and Dream Maker Awards. In this inaugural year, the honorees were:

The International Visitors Council – Global Citizen Award, Community Partner
Comcast Internet Essentials - Global Citizen Corporate Partners
SAP, IBM, & KaBOOM! – The Dream Makers Award for our Playground
